Xmas fundraising: Sports Charity Mwanza

This year we are once again supporting the wonderful Christmas fundraising campaign of my former colleague Kristina Hillenbrand.

Kristina has been involved with Sports Charity Mwanza, a non-profit German-Tanzanian sports and development project, since 2019. The organisation gives thousands of girls and boys in Tanzania access to club sports by building sports surfaces and establishing grassroots sports clubs in the four most popular team sports (football, volleyball, basketball and netball).

For the people of Tanzania, sport plays an important role in life. It promotes community and conveys core values. Therefore, the organisation wants to build more sports centres in all districts of Mwanza in the coming years to give children and young people the chance to pursue their passion.

The project and the many dedicated helpers have a great, positive impact on the local community. The organisation needs a budget of €50,000 to reach its 2022 target. All volunteers pay for all their own expenses. Therefore, everyone can be sure that 100% of their donation goes to the project. Every donation helps, no matter how big or small.

It is currently a difficult time, which shows all the more how important solidarity is. Covid presents us with special challenges, not only in Germany, which is why Kristina has started this Christmas fundraising campaign.
